WALDORF, MD.—A long night at the ballpark results in a 8-4 loss for Southern Maryland in the finale of the four game series.

The Patriots came out swinging in the top of the first.  Vinny Zarillo ripped a single to center on the second pitch of the game.  The next hitter Aaron Eggleston doubled in Zarillo to make it 1-0.  A few batters later, Kyle Roller launched a three run homer to right to put the Patriots up 4-0.

After the bottom of the first the rain came and delayed the ballgame one hour and 32 minutes.  When the game resumed, the Patriots picked up where they left off scoring two runs on the RBI double by Aaron Eggleston and RBI single by Eric Farris to make it 6-0.

Zach Wilson got the Blue Crabs on the board with a solo homerun in the bottom of the second.  Somerset answered though when they received a two run homerun in the top of the fifth off of Eric Farris.

Alfredo Marte drilled a two run homerun to left center, but that was all for the Blue Crabs offensively on the night.

Meanwhile, the combination of Eggleston and Farris went a combined 7-10 in the ballgame, with five RBIs and five runs scored.  The Blue Crabs now will take to the road for seven games beginning tomorrow in Bridgeport against the Bluefish.  The first pitch is set for 7:12 P.M.
