WALDORF, MD—The combination of Michael Snyder and Gustavo Molina went 5-8 with three runs driven in, while RHP Ian Marshall stepped in for a spot start and threw a solid 4.1 innings to lead the Blue Crabs to the 5-3 victory.
Marshall struck out four while allowing just one earned run.  Southern Maryland jumped out to the early lead with a RBI Double from Gustavo Molina.  Anthony tied the game in the top of the third with a homer over the wall in left.
Both teams were held scoreless until the bottom of the seventh, when Gary Brown ripped a double to the alley in left center to put the Blue Crabs ahead 2-1.  Jovan Rosa committed an error at third for the second consecutive, allowing another run to score.
In the bottom of the eighth, the Blue Crabs tacked on two more runs on Michael Snyder’s two run homerun to make it 5-1.  Things got interesting though in the ninth as the Bees loaded the bases against LHP Robert Carson who was lifted for RHP Cody Eppley.  Craig Maddox stepped forward and smacked a two run double to cut the lead to 5-3.  Eppley struck out the next hitter Cole Garner to end the ballgame and give the Blue Crabs the series win.
With his two RBIs tonight, Snyder has now driven in six runs in his last two games.  Additionally, Southern Maryland banged out 11 hits and have now reached double digit hits in seven of the nine games.  LHP Scott Snodgress picked up the win, going 2.2 innings out of the pen, while striking out five.  The pitching combination of Marshall, Snodgress, Stem, Carson and Eppley combined to strike out 13 hitters.
The Blue Crabs will be looking for the sweep tomorrow afternoon at Regency Furniture Stadium.  The first pitch is set for 2:05 P.M.
