York, PA – The Blue Crabs looked to continue their hot start out of the All-Star break and possibly clinch the series win over York on Wednesday. The Revolution and Southern Maryland kept it close throughout the game, but York would go on to take game two by a final of 7-6.
Offensively the Blue Crabs continued to hit well as six out of nine players recorded a hit, with four of them recording multiple hits. CF D’Arby Myers went 3-5 with an RBI while scoring a run. Angel Sanchez smoked his third home run on the year in a 2-5 effort. Milestone chaser Bryant Nelson went 1-3 with two walks. Contributions from Michael Snyder, Eric Garcia and Zach Wilson all factored into the six runs tallied by the Blue Crabs offensively.
Tim Sexton was the starter for the Crabs but did not factor in the outcome. He went five and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs of which three were earned. Navery Moore helped the Blue Crabs escape the sixth after three York runs scored to make it a 6-6 ballgame. Scott Snodgress finished the game pitching two full. A Michael Rockett RBI single cost the Blue Crabs the lead and the game in the eighth. Mike DeMark notched the save for the Revs.
The Crabs face the Revolution in the rubber match on Thursday in York. Southern Maryland returns to Waldorf on Friday to start a three game set with Long Island. The game will be a part of Wresting Night with an appearance by former WWE wrestler Mickie James, for tickets visit somdbluecrabs.com.
