WALDORF, MD— The Blue Crabs walked off to victory in the bottom of the 15th inning defeating the Sugar Land Skeeters 3-2.  D’arby Myers laced a single up the middle to bring home Eric Garcia, winning the game 3-2.

The Blue Crabs evened out the series Thursday night at Regency Furniture Stadium. This was the second extra inning game of the four game series between the two clubs.

Sugar Land got the scoring started in the top of the third on Josh Prince belted a solo shot in the third inning to put the Skeeters ahead 1-0.  In the top of the fourth Travis Scott lifted an opposite field home run to left.

The Blue Crabs answered in the sixth matching the score 2-2 when Norberto Susini came home on an RBI single by D’arby Myers and Bryant Nelson hit a sac fly RBI to bring in Eric Garcia.  The Skeeters turned four tailor made double plays in four consecutive innings.

Blue Crabs starting pitcher Daryl Thompson lasted six and two-thirds innings allowing two runs and nine hits striking out seven.  On the other side, Sugar Land’s starting pitcher Jake Hale hurled shutout ball through seven frames.

Blue Crabs manager, Jeremy Owens blew through his bullpen effectively silencing the Skeeters in the seventh through the 15th.

Garcia led off the bottom of the 11th reaching base on an error by the second baseman, moved up on Myers’ sacrifice bunt, Chen singled to left but Garcia couldn’t put on the breaks quick enough while rounding third and was out in a pickle.

In the top of the 13th, Blue Crabs reliever Ian Marshall, worked out of a self-made jam. He gave up a single to Jeremy Barfield, walked Travis Scott and Beamer Weems, getting an inning ending fielder’s choice when Garcia snagged a grounder toward left field gunning it to Nelson to get Scott out by a hair.

In the bottom of the 15th Myers hit the game winning RBI close out the series against the Skeeters.  Southern Maryland will hit the road against the New Britain Bees for a four game series.  The first pitch for game one is set for 6:35 P.M.
