SOMERSET N.J.—The Blue Crabs began their six game road trip with a loss in Somerset to the Patriots by the final of 7-0.  LHP Jeremy Horst dazzled on the hill by going 8.0 innings, and striking out 10 Blue Crabs hitters.

The Patriots got on the board early with two runs scored in the bottom of the third, highlighted by Mycal Jones’ two run double.  Somerset pushed another run across in the bottom of the fourth and in the sixth.  In the bottom of the eighth, Somerset padded their lead in the bottom of the eighth.  Carlos Guzman ripped a two run homerun over the wall in right.  Later in the inning, Mycal Jones tripled to push another run across to give the Patriots the 7-0 lead.

Southern Maryland had just four hits on the night offensively.  The Blue Crabs have now lost four of their five and look to even the series tomorrow night in Somerset.  The first pitch is set for 7:00 P.M.
