BLUE CRABS BATS STIFFLED IN BRIDGEPORT

BRIDGEPORT, CT.—The Bluefish were honored this afternoon to have Jennie Finch managing their ball club, and they did not disappoint.  The only Southern Maryland run came on an Angel Flores solo homerun in the top of the fifth as the Blue Crabs fell by the final of 3-1.

The bats of the Blue Crabs were shut down by the combination of LHP Mike Antonini, RHP Joseph Kuzia, RHP Taylor Thompson, and LHP Eric Niesen, and held to seven hits on the afternoon.  Antonini picked up the win after going six innings, allowing a run, on four hits.  Offensively, Bridgeport relied on the Luis Nunez RBI single, and an error by Zach Wilson to score the go ahead two runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Bridgeport and Southern Maryland will play the finale of the four game series tomorrow afternoon on Memorial Day.  The Blue Crabs will be looking to win their third series of the year.  The first pitch is set for 1:12 P.M.
