BRIDGEPORT, CT.—The Blue Crabs delivered a season high 18 hits in their 11-9 victory this evening in Bridgeport against the Bluefish.
The Blue Crabs also ripped a season high three homeruns as a team over the wall tonight. D’Arby Myers and Michael Snyder both hit homeruns in the top of the third to give the Blue Crabs a 3-1 lead. In the bottom of the fourth, Bridgeport scored four runs that was highlighted by a Jonathan Galvez solo homerun and a three run shot by Luis Nunez to bring the score to 5-4 Bridgeport.
Each team exchanged runs from the fifth to the sixth. Down 9-8 heading into the top of the eighth inning, the Blue Crabs scored three runs on a Jamar Walton three run homerun to bring the score to its’ final of 11-9. RHP Cody Eppley registered his second save in as many nights, pitching 1.1 innings and striking out two. Neither starting pitcher registered a decision in the ballgame. Meanwhile, Bryant Nelson, Zach Wilson, Jamar Walton, and Angel Flores each registered three hits. Walton drove in a season high four runs on the night for the Blue Crabs.
Southern Maryland will be looking for the series win tomorrow afternoon against the Bluefish. The first pitch is set for 1:12 P.M. in Bridgeport.
