WALDORF, M.D.—After their second series win of the season earlier in the week, the Blue Crabs continue to ride the wave with the 2-1 victory over Lancaster this evening at Regency Furniture Stadium. The big story of the game was that the Barnstormers left seven runners in scoring position tonight. On the flip side, southpaw Brian Burres tossed seven shutout innings for the Blue Crabs, allowing just four hits, and striking out seven.
The Blue Crabs got on the board in the third and seventh innings on RBI singles by Steve Lombardozzi and Eric Garcia. RHPs Justin Berg and Cody Eppley did their team solids with their one run performance on the mound out of the pen for Southern Maryland.
With the win, the Blue Crabs have now won four straight and five of their last six. They look to continue the momentum tomorrow as they take on the Barnstormers in game two of the series. The first pitch is set for 6:35 P.M. tomorrow evening at Regency Furniture Stadium.
