Waldorf, M.D.—Revolution infielder Bryan Pounds came into the game hitting under .200 on the season.  An all-star in 2015, Pounds drives in three runs combined between the two games including driving in the winning run in both games as the Blue Crabs drop the doubleheader by the final of 3-1, and 2-1 respectively.

With the game tied at 1-1 in the top of the seventh, Bryan Pounds came to the plate with two runners on and drove them both in with a two run triple to secure the 3-1 victory in game one.  In game two, Telvin Nash ripped a homerun over the wall in left in the fourth to give the Revolution the lead 1-0.  Zach Wilson stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the sixth and drove one over the wall for the first time in 2016 in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game at 1-1.  The ballgame went to extras, and in the top of the eighth, Pounds lined a single to right center to score the go-ahead run to give York the 2-1 lead.

RHP Gaby Hernandez fared well on the mound in game one, striking out eight, and at one point in the game retiring 15 straight hitters.  Meanwhile on the other side in game two, RHP James Simmons picked up his third win of the year as he went seven innings, striking out seven.

The Blue Crabs look to salvage the series tomorrow afternoon against the Revolution.  The first pitch is set for 2:05 at Regency Furniture Stadium.  RHP Micah Owings (0-0, 0.00) will toss for York, while RHP Shaun Garceau (0-1, 3.97) will start for Southern Maryland.
