You Catch All That? A Review Of The Changes In The World Of The Blue Crabs

Wow, seriously though, did you catch all of that? The Blue Crabs have seen some big moves come. All exciting, and leading to a great 2016!

December 8, 2015

Courtney Knichel was promoted to General Manager following the announcement that Blue Crabs President Patrick Day would become the General Manager of the New Britain Bees.

December 10, 2015

Theresa Coffey was promoted to Assistant General Manager of the team. Her duties as AGM of the Crabs will be to assist in the overall operations of the staff and stadium.

December 15, 2015

Upon the announcement that 2015 Blue Crabs manager Stan Cliburn would become the New Britain manager, Jeremy Owens was named manager. Owens is a member of the original Blue Crabs team in 2008 and played through 2014 as an outfielder. In 2010, he become the hitting coach and remained that through the 2015 campaign. 

In 2009, he was unanimously voted captain of the Butch Hobson managed team. Now, six years later, he will become the skipper.

Like Owens, Knichel and Coffey come into the 2016 season as members of the original team in 2008. 

Knichel started as a Marketing Assistant, helping in creation of promotional material. A job she still takes pride in helping with today.

Coffey started as the Assistant General Manager for Centerplate at Regency Furniture Stadium in 2008. She remembers being at the ballpark in a hard hat as the stadium was begin built.
