(Waldorf, MD August 19th 2015) —Despite playing close ballgames as of late, the opposite held true this evening as the Blue Crabs fell big to the Revolution by the 11-2 final.

York took an early 2-0 lead.  After back to back walks, Luis De La Cruz came to the plate, and drove a single into left field scoring Bryan Pounds to make 1-0.  The next hitter Jose Constanza lashed a single to left field to score Telvin Nash to make it 2-0.  After adding a run in the fourth inning, Andres Perez led off the fifth with a triple to straightaway center field.  Two batter later, Bryan Pounds drove a homerun over the wall in left center to make 5-0.

Southern Maryland got on the board in the bottom of the seventh.  The lead-off hitter Keith Castillo lifted a homerun over the wall in left to make it 5-1.  Tyler Wagner then singled, and three batters later, Zach Wilson drove in Wagner with an RBI single to make it 5-2.

In the top of the eighth, York sent ten men to the plate scoring five runs on five hits.  With the bases loaded and one out, Eric Patterson singled back up the middle to score Telvin Nash.  The next hitter Brandon Boggs walked to force a run across the plate to make it 7-2.  Andres Perez came to the plate and singled to left field to score Jose Constanza.  Yeicok Calderon then lashed a single to score Patterson, and Boggs would also score next on a sacrifice fly hit by Bryan Pounds to make it 10-2.

York added one more run in the top of the ninth to make it 11-2.  York banged out 15 hits, highlighted by Brandon Boggs’ three hit night.  RHP Shaun Garceau made his return to the Blue Crabs, going five innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, walking five and striking out three.

The Blue Crabs look to salvage the series tomorrow evening in game four of the series.  RHP Brian Grening (3-7, 4.63) will start for Southern Maryland, while RHP Matt Neil (2-7, 4.56) will throw for York.  The first pitch is set for 7:05 P.M.
