The Blue Crabs offence found stride and resilience yesterday to avoid a three game sweep at the hands of York. They begin a four game stand vs the Sugar Land Skeeters at Regency Furniture Stadium today at 7:05. Brian Burres toes the stub.

2B Jake Opitz’ fourth inning RBI double came in a frame where a Fred Lewis bunt single broke up a young perfect game at the point. Later in the sixth, SS Casey Frawley took a round trip trot on the diamond after a solo home run in the frame to put the Crabs’ ahead 2-1. An insurance run came from Jamar Walton via a triple in the seventh to make a 3-1 lead.

Fast forward to the bottom of the ninth, York tied the ball game in the top of the fame to make it a 3-3 game, but a lead off single by Grant Zawadzki put Jovan Rosa in place to bring in a winning run…or two. On a 3-2 count, Rosa snuck a ball over the fence and fair past the LF foul pole to bring in he and Zawadzki to make a 5-3 final
