(Waldorf, MD. June 25th 2015)—There was
a buzz in the around Regency Furniture Stadium as the Blue Crabs had one of the
best signings of the season in the Atlantic League on the hill tonight in Chien
Ming Wang.  Wang did not disappoint as he was one out away from throwing a
complete game, picking up the win, as the Blue Crabs defeated the York
Revolution by the 3-2 final.

Southern Maryland finally cracked the code of RHP Anthony
Lerew.  Jovan Rosa started the rally with a one out single, followed by a
Jamar Walton walk, and a Casey Frawley single to load the bases.  Fred
Lewis then hit a sharp ground ball to second that was juggled allowing Rosa to
score and reloading the bases.  Casey Stevenson then wrapped a single to
right field to score Walton, and Frawley to make it 3-0.

Fast forward to the top of the ninth, the Revolution would
not go away.  With Wang going for his first complete game since April 11th,
2008 as a member of the New York Yankees, Nick Ferdinand singled with one
out.  Two batters later Yeicok Calderon singled to put runners at first
and second.  After a wild pitch, Telvin Nash singled with runners at
second and third to score both runs to make it a 3-2 game.  Manager Stan
Cliburn then took the baseball and called Closer Erik Hamren out of the
bullpen, and he struck out Salvador Paniagua to end the ballgame and pick up
his 14th save of the season.

With the 3-2 victory, Southern Maryland is now 8-2 against
York this season.  The Blue Crabs hit the road for an eight game road
trip, starting with Somerset tomorrow evening.  The first pitch is set for
7:05 P.M.  RHP Daryl Thompson (1-0, 3.00) will start for Southern
Maryland, while LHP Matt Zielinski (2-1, 2.87) will throw for Somerset.
