(Waldorf, MD., June 6, 2015) – After losing both games in yesterday’s doubleheader, Southern Maryland wins game three of the series by a score of 4-1 in front of a season-high 5,920 crowd at Regency Furniture Stadium.
Following the script from game two of last night’s doubleheader, the Blue Crabs got on the board early. Fred Lewis started the rally with a walk. Renny Osuna and Zach Wilson both singled to load the bases. Daryle Ward then walked to score Lewis from third. The next hitter, Gustavo Molina, singled in two runs to bring the score to 3-0. A couple of hitters later, Jamar Walton knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly to make it 4-0.
The Bluefish got on the board in the top of the sixth on a throwing error by first baseman Daryle Ward to score Ryan Babineau to make it 4-1. Blue Crabs starter Jake Hale picked up his fifth win by going six innings, allowing a run on five hits, and walking two. The combination of Lewis, Osuna, and Wilson scored three runs.
Up next, the Blue Crabs will hit the road and take on the Long Island Ducks in a four-game set. Game one will pit RHP Jon Leicester (1-0, 1.20) throwing for Southern Maryland, while RHP Mickey Jannis (3-2, 1.55) will start for Long Island. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:35 P.M.
